You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

During the initial appointment, we will discuss practice policies and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process. Additionally, this is a chance for us to get to know each other better and determine your goals for therapy and a plan to reach those goals.

This will depend on you. However, there are many factors that determine the length; your schedule, therapist’s availability, ongoing life challenges, specific nature and acuity of your specific challenges, and engagement in and outside of the therapy sessions. Research suggests that most clients begin to feel significant improvement in 12-15 sessions and I would expect the same for us. Many find that they enjoy the process and choose to continue, while others feel better enough that they decide to graduate within that time frame. My goal is to meet you where you are at and help you meet your goals as soon as possible.
